Weekend Update!!!

Well we had a pretty good weekend. On Friday when I got off work we went to the Sportshow. We got there just before 4:00 & Michael Waddell’s show started at 4:30, so Elicia said we should go get seats. We went up to where I thought it was at & he was up there talking to people. Logan & I were looking at some stuff at one of the tables & Michael walked up & started talking to Logan. Logan got his autograph. He flat blew me away. He was probably the nicest person I have ever met. He spent 45 min. in his session saying that he is no better than any other hunter & if you talk bad or down to him than you are doing it to all of us & insulting all hunters. That was not something I expected to hear from somebody with all his success. While we were sitting there a realtree & muzzy prostaffer were shooting their bows at the 3D targets & the realtree guy asked Logan if he wanted to shoot a deer, so Logan got to go up & shoot with a realtree prostaffer. If you don’t know hunting or the people or companies out there than this is all boring, but for me, it was better than Christmas. My son got to have some great hunting experiences at 4 years old. That is the kind of stuff that will keep him excited about the sport. Michael will be back in town on March 3rd so maybe daddy can get an autograph.

Saturday we stayed around the house. I finished the Highest Call class to send to Mario & worked to put together a new computer system for the church office. The computers in there are ready to crash & they need new computers bad. It is going to cost about $3,000 to get a new system in there so we all should give a little extra to get this done. (Make sure to mark that it is for the computers). I had practice in the afternoon & I took some time off in the evening to spend with my family. Sunday we had Church. People must have thought it was to cold to come to Church, it looked like a Wednesday crowd. It just amazes me why people don’t come to Church. When we were small & sick, my dad said puke & get your coat. We went anyways & I am blessed because of it. It instilled in us that come Sunday & Wednesday you go to Church. People are counting on you being there. My children are being taught to go to Church. Sorry about that rant. After church we came home & had lunch. I work on some church video projects for an hour or so, than we went to Ashley’s house. The whole family was there to hang out, including my brother in law/cousin Mark. Its fun when he is out here. I didn’t really get to grow up around my family, so it is a blast when he is here. We watched the first two episodes of Lost. It is a pretty good show, after that went home & watched the Olympics & went to bed.

Monday was, well Monday. I hate Monday’s, come to think of it, I don’t really don’t like Monday thru Thursday. When I got home last night. We had dinner & I worked on cleaning some junk out of my computer & finishing up some old projects. I have to wipe my computer out so I need to wrap up all those things that never got finished.

As I was driving into work this morning, Jeremy pulled up next to me without his seatbelt on. Be sure to send him an email explaining how important it is that DADDY wear his seatbelt so he will be around to be apart of his family’s life.

I Can't Believe This!!!

I just got my socks blessed off. I called Mac Mall for my daily update on my order. Somehow I got to the wrong department & the guy I was talking to said, “can I help you with your order, let me tell you what I would do if it were my order.” I thought, ok here we go, a salesman telling me what he would do. By the time it was done he rearranged my order & gave me almost $1,000 worth of stuff for $200. This on top of Apple giving me a $500 processor upgrade for free. Man I am blessed. I can’t wait to drive that screaming machine. All you Mac Heads out there need to call Reid Jackson at 1-800-622-6255 Extension 4580. It is because of service like this that I have in the past & will in the future order from Mac Mall & Club Mac.

Life has been really busy. I work during the day & then I go how & work some more. I am getting the Highest Call class ready to send to the Philippines along with some other video series. Video work is rather time consuming. I don’t have a render farm in my house so it can be slow at times. Well enough geek talk.

We got a little snow today, nothing like back in Michigan. They are getting like 18 inches in the next few days. Man that would be awesome. We don’t get enough snow here to make winter fun. We just get 4 or 5 months of cold brown yuck. When it does snow the morons do come out of the woodwork. I drove my Jeep today in 4 wheel drive & on snow covered roads & winds at a steady 20mph, Joe Idiot in a Saturn sedan rides my tail all the way to town weaving in & out of traffic. I don’t understand how someone can TOTALLY FORGET how to drive in the snow over the 7 or so months of good weather that we have. I have to fear for my life every time I go out & drive somewhere.

We have sports shows in town for the next two weekends. I am hoping that I can pick up some good fishing tackle for cheap. The legendary Babe Winkleman & Michael Wadell are here this weekend. I can’t wait to see them.

Good & Bad News

Well as I was sitting here working late I get an email from google telling me that apple was upgrading the processor speed on the new Mac Book Pro’s at no coast to me. So I called Mac Mall to confirm this & that is when he punched me in the stomach. He told me that me computer wont be at Mac Mall until the 20th & they will ship it to me on the 21st. That Sucks. Leave it to apple to wait until the last minute to notify people. Oh well at least I get a faster computer at no cost to me. Here is what apple’s press release said:

Apple Begins Shipping MacBook Pro

Senate To Vote On Homosexual Marriage

Here is my disclaimer. Most of the time the AFA is way out there boycotting & mass-emailing a company or senator if they sneeze wrong. But I believe in this one & it is worth getting involved with. Just click the link, put your zip code in, fill in the required fields & hit send.

The U.S. Senate will vote on the Marriage Protection Amendment (MPA) in early March. This constitutional amendment will make marriage between one man and one woman the only legal marriage. Your help is needed in sending one million emails to the Senate in support of the MPA. Senators who vote against the MPA, or support a filibuster to avoid a vote on the MPA, are supporting homosexual marriage.

Tendonitis!!! Yuck!!!

You all probably think I am being spiritual when I close my eyes while I am playing guitar. Although sometimes that is the case, recently it is because of pain. Sunday I thought I was going to cry. I have been experiencing pain in my hands when I play my guitar. We have played all of Lincoln Brewster’s cd (which is a very demanding style) & so like working out I thought, well I don’t work these muscles very often so they are stretching & becoming stronger. While that may be true, I well up with tears every weekend because my hands & wrist hurt more & more with every practice & service. It used to be that the pain would go away when I quit playing, now it is here all the time. Even as I type I can feel sharp pain & tingling all the way up in my elbow. So, before it gets out of hand or I damage something I called the doctor. I hope they don’t make me stop playing for a while. I love to play, & that would totally bite. I will keep you posted on what the doctor says & what good drugs they give me.

Well the “Bus” got his glory win. He is going out on top. I was glade that the Steelers won the superbowl, even though they beat my Colts. We had some people over to watch the game & I think I talked fishing more than I watched football. That’s all right since my team wasn’t playing anyhow. What is it that dad always says about the fellowship. I have some great fishing buddies. Craig, Al, Jeremy & I talked for like 5 hours strait about fishing. I am like a sponge around Craig & Al. Both of them have some great fishing experience & tips. Sounds like we are planning a men’s fishing weekend here in the early to mid part of summer. Maybe head down state & rent some boats & fish for two days. That will be a blast. I will keep you posted. Can you see Edgey out there tearing up the walleye? I can wait.

There Are Some Sick People In This World

Internet Hoax:Golden Retriever Puppies
The last few weeks GRREAT has been inundated with e-mails from members and others forwarding a message about Golden Retriever puppies about to be euthanized if someone doesn't help them.  There is no indication of the date the original note was sent or where these puppies are located.  It just includes the name "Mrs. Gaëlle Wenger" and a hotmail address.  Unfortunately, this e-mail--and others like it--has been making the rounds for years.  I did a search on the Internet and found references to the same exact e-mail as early as 2003.  So if someone sends you this e-mail, please, don't forward it to anyone and pass this information back to the person who sent it to you.  An article describing a number of hoaxes involving puppies about to be put down can be found at the Urban Legends Reference Pages.

Save The Puppies

I got an email from a friend at work that said that these puppies were going to be put down if nobody wanted them. They are free for the taking. If you want one please let me know.

iPods may cause ... eh? - Feb 1, 2006

You have got to be kidding me! If this idiot doesn't have enough common sense to TURN THE VOLUME DOWN, then he deserves to be deaf. Good grief, take some responsibility for your actions. Is he going to sue Hostess because all that pot he smoked caused him to eat twinkies & made him fat. Come on!

Look At All Of Us!!!

I was just sitting here this morning after a really long & really boring meeting, which by the way had a great presenter, who did a wonderful job. Anyways I was close to being clinically dead & needed a pick me up to get me back into the swing of things. So I opened up my rss reader to see who has posted & it hit me how many people & blogs have popped up since I started mine. I am counting around 20 blogs in three different states. That is amazing. I have to tell you all that reading your blogs is, next to going home to my wife & kids, the best part of my day. Who would of thought it would be fun to read about each other’s lives. I for one love it. With all these blogs going, I have heard talking that it is hard to read them all & keep track of them. Fear not, your geeky tech friend is here to save you. I use a cool program called Awasu. It is an rss reader for you PC users (God help your souls). It is a great program, I love it, & best of all it is a free download. Those of us that are mac addicts already have an rss reader called Safari. Click the links & find out how to be able to have all your favorite blogs in one place & keep up on everybody.

I am not a very felling, open up my heart to the world person. Some have compared me to Red Foreman from “That 70’s Show”. I don’t know that I would go that far, but I most likely would not tell you most of the stuff I write in this blog to your face. I have never really had a journal, but this seems like a way to do both. For me this is a real creative release. You can call me what ever you want. But I like doing this. If I did not have this release I could become like Red. Just kidding.

Well it has been in the 40s & 50s here all January & I have been able to get out & scratch my fishing itch. I am discovering that I am a fisherman more than a hunter. Don’t tell Gabe. I find that fishing is incredibly relaxing for me, & a good stress reliever also. Some find it in hunting, golf, reading, and woodworking, well I found it in fishing. I have found a new fishing friend & spent last weekend fishing with him. Not much biting, but it was great to get outside.

This weekend is the Superbowl & we are having a bunch of people over, so my honey-do list is quite long. The evil that is the superbowl committee decided that ABC should air the game this year. ABC has the worst reception in the world. The mouse that is running that company is putting more money into his theme parks, cable networks & paying 70 billion with a “b” to purchase animation studios, then he is into the local networks & so they have horrible reception. Alas I have to deal with it. I am going to purchase an amplified antenna & hope that it makes the picture clear enough to watch the game. I will keep you posted.
