Tending to eden...

Hey guy’s. It’s been a while. We have been so busy & so much has happened since I wrote last. Spring has sprung in the great state of Iowa. I have been having a blast discovering things in my yard. It is a whole different world living in the country. I love it. I have taken an interest in bird watching & turned my yard into a bird sanctuary. We have put out different feeders & thistle bags. I am totally amazed at how many birds come to the yard. I have a family of blue jays that just had some eggs hatch & they are right out side my kitchen window. It is great to stand there & drink your coffee & watch the blue jays feed the babies. I have a set of orioles that have taken a liking to the yard. They love the fresh oranges & grape jelly I put out. I walked out of the house last night & heard them signing in the tree & I was whistling back to them & Elicia sarcastically asked if I was the bird whisperer now. I replied no, I just love my birds.

Our yard has a fenced in garden that is about 25 x 50. I was going to put a few things in & it exploded. We ended up putting in about 40 tomato plants, 2 rows of carrots & radishes, 3 rows of onions, 50’ of peas, 30’ of lettuce, 25’ of beans, 7 straight eight cucumber hills, 4 pickling cucumber bushes & 8 hills of squash. It has been really cool watching our 5 cherry trees, 2 apple trees, grape vines, peach tree & rhubarb growing. I also discovered that what I thought was a third apple tree has turned out to be a pear tree. So as you can see I am quite busy tending to eden…

More to come soon

Subject: How to tell what you are

Mary just sent this to me & I thought it was great.

Subject: How to tell what you are Are you Democrat, Republican or Southern? Question: How do you tell the difference between Democrats, Republicans And Southern Republicans? The answer can be found by posing the following question: You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, a Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you. You are carrying a Glock cal .40, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do? -------------------------------------Democrat's Answer: Well, that's not enough information to answer the question! Does the man look poor or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think? What about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand? What does the law say about this situation? Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it? Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children? Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me? Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me? If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me? Should I call 9-1-1? Why is this street so deserted? We need to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day and make this happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior. This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for few days and try to come to a consensus. -------------------------------Republican's Answer: BANG!
------------------------------- Southern Republican's Answer: BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! click.....(sounds of reloading). BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! click Daughter: "Nice grouping, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver Tips or Hollow Points?"

Weekend Update

Man the days are just flat flying by. Friday after work I met with Kim Lea about Bio Performance, by the way congratulations & welcome aboard. Friday late afternoon & went & grabbed stuff to replace my brakes on my jeep, then I went home to start working on a video for missions Sunday. Well I ended up on the phone doing sales & follow-up calls. I wasn’t very motivated or in the zone so to speak to make the video so I gave up for the night.

My dog woke me up a little before 8:00 on Saturday, so I let him out & realized how nice it was outside. That motivated me to get the video done. So I sat down & finished that. I made a few more Bio Performance calls to some people with mixed results. I am quite surprised that the majority of people I talk to are excited about the business side of things. I have had a few people that really wanted the product, & not the business. All great for me because I need customers too. Well around 12:30 I headed over to my dads & jacked the jeep up & started working on the brakes. My dad was in the garage & had this look of disbelief as I tore my truck apart. It was more like a look of amazement. He did tell my mom that he would change his brakes after seeing how easy it is. I got down to one tire left & 4:00 rolled around, so I took my moms car & ran to practice. While I was at practice Ron Vicker & my dad finished my last tire. When I got back I hurried home, because I had a meeting with some people about the business. Well they weren’t able to make it so I finished working on the mission’s video.

Sunday was Church; the video went great; it played with only a few minor hiccups. I am sure that nobody but Elicia & me caught them. After church we went to my parents for lunch. My stick in the mud brother, slept all afternoon again. He didn’t even have to work this weekend & he took a 3-hour nap on Saturday. What a looser. Layne & Sara stopped in for a little bit. Sunday night we headed home & just laid around & watched extreme makeover: home edition. Monday was pretty boring. Work was busy so the day went pretty fast. Monday night I was, yes you guessed it on the phone again. I had a couple excited about Bio Performance at my house & they signed up. I set two more meetings up for later in the week to talk to people. I am so pumped about this product. I am really approaching this as a business. I am hoping that this will really generate some income. I would love to get out of the 8-5. I have always wanted to work from home & this could be the thing that accomplishes that for me. Besides all of that why would you not want to save money on gas? There was a news story on cnn yesterday about gas; it stated that gas has gone up like 11 cents in the last two weeks even while the price of crude has gone down. It is not going to get any better. Go to my site & find out how to save $.25 - $.50 a gallon.

It’s Tuesday, NCIS & the Unit, only on CBS.

Peace out,
Ryan

Chuck Norris Facts, Apple Style!

Only the Mac faithful will get these.
  • Chuck Norris’ handwriting was misread by the Newton. Once.

  • Chuck Norris doesn’t browse iTunes. He just stares at his Mac until it plays the song he wants.

  • Roz Ho was once as captivating and charismatic as Steve Jobs. That is, until Chuck Norris roundhouse kicked her to the face and caused her to “Think Different.”

  • Chuck Norris is the only person Steve Jobs fears getting into an elevator with.

  • Apple renamed the PowerBook because Chuck Norris hated the name.

  • There is only one-way to break into Mac OS X: Chuck Norris’ fist.

  • To avoid a repeat lawsuit, Apple is paying Chuck Norris to breath on all new iPods. They don’t scratch. Ever.

  • In fear of upsetting Chuck Norris, Apple insured all the applications on his new iMac were Universal Binaries, including Photoshop.

  • Apple’s original 1984 Super Bowl commercial featured Chuck Norris. It was deemed far too awesome to display on television and was replaced by an alternate commercial only half as good.

  • Chuck Norris is the reason Woz left Apple.

This Is Amazing!!!

Wow, this business thing is really taking off. This is something that can help everybody save, & while you are telling all your friends about it, why not get paid for doing it. Checks out this prophesy my dad sent me last night. It is from a guy by the name of Kim Clement.

May 22, 2005

Keep your eyes open for you shall see things changing with petroleum. You shall see things changing with something new that shall come forth. Invest into it says the Spirit of the Lord. You’d better listen some of you investors. This is not petroleum. This is not oil. This is something else that is safer and God wants to share a secret tonight. Go and study it. I don’t have the words. The Spirit of the Lord has hidden it from me. But He tells me there’s something other than petroleum or gas or whatever you call it, oil, that’s coming forth that’s gonna be used. Invest in it for it will bring some of you millions of dollars within a 14 month period says the Lord.

If that is not enough, look at his site & the rest of his prophesies & how many are coming true & in the news. We all drive to the other side of town to save .5 a gallon. If I told you I could save you .25 to .50 a gallon would to be interested. Heck yeah you would, we all would. Now what if I told you that there was a business opportunity with this? You could get paid to show people how to save money on gas & increase there fuel mileage by 20%-35%. I have read some cases of even 51%. Take a look at my web site www.rmb.mybpbiz.com; look at the product, the testimonies, and the compensation plan if you want to make a business of this. This product is spreading like wild fire. The company started in December 2005, & as of Monday they had over 19,000 people signed on the business side. They have had over $9,000,000.00 in product sales, & $5,000,000.00 in commissions paid. Check out the information on my site & give me a call. Do it quick. Somebody is going to tell your friends about this product, it may as well be you & you should get paid to do it.

Our Weekend

This weekend went by way to quick. I can’t even remember what I did on Friday. I do know we went grocery shopping that night. Saturday we slept in until 9:30, I couldn’t believe it. After we got up I made breakfast & went to work on the house. I had a plumbing issue with my dishwasher. After I got everything apart I had to go to menards for parts. We got home & I got everything back together in time to go to worship practice. After practice we just sat around & watched tv. Sunday was church & we went to mom & dads for lunch, Jeremy was boring, all he did is sleep. We had a birthday party in the big city of DC at 3:00. It was good to see it again; I haven’t really been back since we moved. I really miss it there; I loved my house & my neighbors, well at least one of them. Then it was back home to let the dog out for a while. Than we went to Jeremy’s to upload some pics to zoto. After that we went back to dads to get in the hot tub.

I had Monday off so I got up early to go fishing before Elicia & the kids got up. I was in Panora around 7:00 & fished for a few hours. I came home & was going to do some yard work, but it was too windy & cold, so I did some electrical work inside. I have been replacing plugs & switches. I did that for a while & than eat some lunch. We decided to be spontaneous, so we loaded into the jeep around 1:30 & went to Council Bluffs to Bass Pro Shops. It was awesome. I would say that Cabelas is bigger & maybe even better, but it was still cool. Logan had a blast. They have a great selection of hunting & fishing gear. They even have a pretty good size section of clothes & a starbucks. After going through a place like that, would you believe I only walked out of there $30 lighter. I got a pair of cheap fishing sunglasses, some bird food, & a children’s tackle box. We got home around 8:00 & we laid around for a bit than it was off to bed.

I started a home based business, you can go to my website to check it out. The business involves selling a pill or powder that you put in your gas tank. That pill can save you on average 18%-22% in fuel savings & on the high end 35%. On top of the savings in gas, it cleans & lubricates your engine while lowering emissions. I don’t know about you, but as much gas as I burn through & as high as gas prices are it is worth it to me to save that much in fuel costs. These are great just to use them, but there is a great financial opportunity as a business to. Check it out & give me a shout, if my dad hasn’t talked to you already. I will leave you with pictures of our trip to Bass Pro Shops.

Weekend Update!!!

Well we had a pretty good weekend. On Friday when I got off work we went to the Sportshow. We got there just before 4:00 & Michael Waddell’s show started at 4:30, so Elicia said we should go get seats. We went up to where I thought it was at & he was up there talking to people. Logan & I were looking at some stuff at one of the tables & Michael walked up & started talking to Logan. Logan got his autograph. He flat blew me away. He was probably the nicest person I have ever met. He spent 45 min. in his session saying that he is no better than any other hunter & if you talk bad or down to him than you are doing it to all of us & insulting all hunters. That was not something I expected to hear from somebody with all his success. While we were sitting there a realtree & muzzy prostaffer were shooting their bows at the 3D targets & the realtree guy asked Logan if he wanted to shoot a deer, so Logan got to go up & shoot with a realtree prostaffer. If you don’t know hunting or the people or companies out there than this is all boring, but for me, it was better than Christmas. My son got to have some great hunting experiences at 4 years old. That is the kind of stuff that will keep him excited about the sport. Michael will be back in town on March 3rd so maybe daddy can get an autograph.

Saturday we stayed around the house. I finished the Highest Call class to send to Mario & worked to put together a new computer system for the church office. The computers in there are ready to crash & they need new computers bad. It is going to cost about $3,000 to get a new system in there so we all should give a little extra to get this done. (Make sure to mark that it is for the computers). I had practice in the afternoon & I took some time off in the evening to spend with my family. Sunday we had Church. People must have thought it was to cold to come to Church, it looked like a Wednesday crowd. It just amazes me why people don’t come to Church. When we were small & sick, my dad said puke & get your coat. We went anyways & I am blessed because of it. It instilled in us that come Sunday & Wednesday you go to Church. People are counting on you being there. My children are being taught to go to Church. Sorry about that rant. After church we came home & had lunch. I work on some church video projects for an hour or so, than we went to Ashley’s house. The whole family was there to hang out, including my brother in law/cousin Mark. Its fun when he is out here. I didn’t really get to grow up around my family, so it is a blast when he is here. We watched the first two episodes of Lost. It is a pretty good show, after that went home & watched the Olympics & went to bed.

Monday was, well Monday. I hate Monday’s, come to think of it, I don’t really don’t like Monday thru Thursday. When I got home last night. We had dinner & I worked on cleaning some junk out of my computer & finishing up some old projects. I have to wipe my computer out so I need to wrap up all those things that never got finished.

As I was driving into work this morning, Jeremy pulled up next to me without his seatbelt on. Be sure to send him an email explaining how important it is that DADDY wear his seatbelt so he will be around to be apart of his family’s life.

I Can't Believe This!!!

I just got my socks blessed off. I called Mac Mall for my daily update on my order. Somehow I got to the wrong department & the guy I was talking to said, “can I help you with your order, let me tell you what I would do if it were my order.” I thought, ok here we go, a salesman telling me what he would do. By the time it was done he rearranged my order & gave me almost $1,000 worth of stuff for $200. This on top of Apple giving me a $500 processor upgrade for free. Man I am blessed. I can’t wait to drive that screaming machine. All you Mac Heads out there need to call Reid Jackson at 1-800-622-6255 Extension 4580. It is because of service like this that I have in the past & will in the future order from Mac Mall & Club Mac.

Life has been really busy. I work during the day & then I go how & work some more. I am getting the Highest Call class ready to send to the Philippines along with some other video series. Video work is rather time consuming. I don’t have a render farm in my house so it can be slow at times. Well enough geek talk.

We got a little snow today, nothing like back in Michigan. They are getting like 18 inches in the next few days. Man that would be awesome. We don’t get enough snow here to make winter fun. We just get 4 or 5 months of cold brown yuck. When it does snow the morons do come out of the woodwork. I drove my Jeep today in 4 wheel drive & on snow covered roads & winds at a steady 20mph, Joe Idiot in a Saturn sedan rides my tail all the way to town weaving in & out of traffic. I don’t understand how someone can TOTALLY FORGET how to drive in the snow over the 7 or so months of good weather that we have. I have to fear for my life every time I go out & drive somewhere.

We have sports shows in town for the next two weekends. I am hoping that I can pick up some good fishing tackle for cheap. The legendary Babe Winkleman & Michael Wadell are here this weekend. I can’t wait to see them.

Remember: "Traditions are group efforts to keep the unexpected from happening."

Good & Bad News

Well as I was sitting here working late I get an email from google telling me that apple was upgrading the processor speed on the new Mac Book Pro’s at no coast to me. So I called Mac Mall to confirm this & that is when he punched me in the stomach. He told me that me computer wont be at Mac Mall until the 20th & they will ship it to me on the 21st. That Sucks. Leave it to apple to wait until the last minute to notify people. Oh well at least I get a faster computer at no cost to me. Here is what apple’s press release said:

Apple Begins Shipping MacBook Pro
MacBook Pro Features Faster Intel Core Duo Processors Up to 2.16 GHz
CUPERTINO, California—February 14, 2006—Apple® this week will begin shipping the new 15-inch MacBook™ Pro notebook computer featuring the new Intel Core Duo processor which delivers up to four times the performance of the PowerBook® G4*, a built-in iSight™ video camera for video conferencing on-the-go and the breakthrough Front Row media experience with Apple Remote. All models of the new MacBook Pro will ship with faster Intel Core Duo processors than previously announced, delivering even greater performance at no additional cost. The $2,499 model now includes a 2.0 GHz Intel Core Duo processor, up from the previously announced 1.83 GHz, and will begin shipping this week. Senate To Vote On Homosexual Marriage

Here is my disclaimer. Most of the time the AFA is way out there boycotting & mass-emailing a company or senator if they sneeze wrong. But I believe in this one & it is worth getting involved with. Just click the link, put your zip code in, fill in the required fields & hit send.

The U.S. Senate will vote on the Marriage Protection Amendment (MPA) in early March. This constitutional amendment will make marriage between one man and one woman the only legal marriage. Your help is needed in sending one million emails to the Senate in support of the MPA. Senators who vote against the MPA, or support a filibuster to avoid a vote on the MPA, are supporting homosexual marriage.

Tendonitis!!! Yuck!!!

You all probably think I am being spiritual when I close my eyes while I am playing guitar. Although sometimes that is the case, recently it is because of pain. Sunday I thought I was going to cry. I have been experiencing pain in my hands when I play my guitar. We have played all of Lincoln Brewster’s cd (which is a very demanding style) & so like working out I thought, well I don’t work these muscles very often so they are stretching & becoming stronger. While that may be true, I well up with tears every weekend because my hands & wrist hurt more & more with every practice & service. It used to be that the pain would go away when I quit playing, now it is here all the time. Even as I type I can feel sharp pain & tingling all the way up in my elbow. So, before it gets out of hand or I damage something I called the doctor. I hope they don’t make me stop playing for a while. I love to play, & that would totally bite. I will keep you posted on what the doctor says & what good drugs they give me.

Well the “Bus” got his glory win. He is going out on top. I was glade that the Steelers won the superbowl, even though they beat my Colts. We had some people over to watch the game & I think I talked fishing more than I watched football. That’s all right since my team wasn’t playing anyhow. What is it that dad always says about the fellowship. I have some great fishing buddies. Craig, Al, Jeremy & I talked for like 5 hours strait about fishing. I am like a sponge around Craig & Al. Both of them have some great fishing experience & tips. Sounds like we are planning a men’s fishing weekend here in the early to mid part of summer. Maybe head down state & rent some boats & fish for two days. That will be a blast. I will keep you posted. Can you see Edgey out there tearing up the walleye? I can wait.

There Are Some Sick People In This World

Internet Hoax:Golden Retriever Puppies
The last few weeks GRREAT has been inundated with e-mails from members and others forwarding a message about Golden Retriever puppies about to be euthanized if someone doesn't help them.  There is no indication of the date the original note was sent or where these puppies are located.  It just includes the name "Mrs. Gaëlle Wenger" and a hotmail address.  Unfortunately, this e-mail--and others like it--has been making the rounds for years.  I did a search on the Internet and found references to the same exact e-mail as early as 2003.  So if someone sends you this e-mail, please, don't forward it to anyone and pass this information back to the person who sent it to you.  An article describing a number of hoaxes involving puppies about to be put down can be found at the Urban Legends Reference Pages.

Save The Puppies

I got an email from a friend at work that said that these puppies were going to be put down if nobody wanted them. They are free for the taking. If you want one please let me know.

iPods may cause ... eh? - Feb 1, 2006

You have got to be kidding me! If this idiot doesn't have enough common sense to TURN THE VOLUME DOWN, then he deserves to be deaf. Good grief, take some responsibility for your actions. Is he going to sue Hostess because all that pot he smoked caused him to eat twinkies & made him fat. Come on!

Look At All Of Us!!!

I was just sitting here this morning after a really long & really boring meeting, which by the way had a great presenter, who did a wonderful job. Anyways I was close to being clinically dead & needed a pick me up to get me back into the swing of things. So I opened up my rss reader to see who has posted & it hit me how many people & blogs have popped up since I started mine. I am counting around 20 blogs in three different states. That is amazing. I have to tell you all that reading your blogs is, next to going home to my wife & kids, the best part of my day. Who would of thought it would be fun to read about each other’s lives. I for one love it. With all these blogs going, I have heard talking that it is hard to read them all & keep track of them. Fear not, your geeky tech friend is here to save you. I use a cool program called Awasu. It is an rss reader for you PC users (God help your souls). It is a great program, I love it, & best of all it is a free download. Those of us that are mac addicts already have an rss reader called Safari. Click the links & find out how to be able to have all your favorite blogs in one place & keep up on everybody.

I am not a very felling, open up my heart to the world person. Some have compared me to Red Foreman from “That 70’s Show”. I don’t know that I would go that far, but I most likely would not tell you most of the stuff I write in this blog to your face. I have never really had a journal, but this seems like a way to do both. For me this is a real creative release. You can call me what ever you want. But I like doing this. If I did not have this release I could become like Red. Just kidding.

Well it has been in the 40s & 50s here all January & I have been able to get out & scratch my fishing itch. I am discovering that I am a fisherman more than a hunter. Don’t tell Gabe. I find that fishing is incredibly relaxing for me, & a good stress reliever also. Some find it in hunting, golf, reading, and woodworking, well I found it in fishing. I have found a new fishing friend & spent last weekend fishing with him. Not much biting, but it was great to get outside.

This weekend is the Superbowl & we are having a bunch of people over, so my honey-do list is quite long. The evil that is the superbowl committee decided that ABC should air the game this year. ABC has the worst reception in the world. The mouse that is running that company is putting more money into his theme parks, cable networks & paying 70 billion with a “b” to purchase animation studios, then he is into the local networks & so they have horrible reception. Alas I have to deal with it. I am going to purchase an amplified antenna & hope that it makes the picture clear enough to watch the game. I will keep you posted.

It's Been A While

Man, has it been a full week since I posted. Time fly’s when you are NOT having fun. I have been really busy with work & life. I still can’t get it through my boss’s head that he needs to hire someone. Than when stuff gets behind he gets his underwear all in a bunch (bad visual). Oh well, God must be teaching me patience. I wish I could get it.

I have been having a blast working on a video job for work. It was kind of tossed on me & it forced me to step out into something that was uncomfortable. It showed me that I could do it. Thanks to a certain HR person, who stuck her neck out & volunteered me. I think it paid off for both of us, thank God, & thanks to my employer for taking a chance on me. I am hoping they send more jobs my way. I am a play it safe person & don’t really like to take chances & I was forced to take this one & have learned a lot. In this process I have made a decision to start a business. I will be doing photo preservation & digital archiving. Basically I will scan your Wal-Mart printed pictures & burn them to a cd to preserve them. You can put these cd’s in you safe or bank box & protect them forever. I will for an additional fee put the pictures on a DVD to watch on your TV or share with friends & family. I am hoping this takes off & I can possibly venture over to the video side of the business. So get your pictures ready, the shop will open soon. I am hoping to have a web site & some advertising up & going here shortly.

My computer is almost here, one week down three to go.

MacBook Pro

Well, I did it. I have been waiting 5 years to get a laptop & it has finally happened. I purchased the new MacBook Pro. I have had an idea for a business & needed a laptop to do it. I was looking at the 15in Powerbook, but got to thinking that apple is moving everything to intel so I may as well make the jump. Now after reading some stuff on the internet I am a little scared. Hopefully it pays off. The computer wont ship for like another month. That is going to drive me crazy. I love my computer & now I have a new one & I can't even set it up. I purchased the airport extreme base station & cant wait to set up my network & be able to sit in my living room & work wirelessly.

Jessica's Law

I received this email from a friend today & wanted to share it with you. PLEASE click the link & send an email to your governor. Please copy the link & send it to everyone you know.

Hello all,

I don't know if you've been following the Vermont/Judge Cashman story on the news, but to sum it up, a man raped a little girl for 4 years, beginning when she was 7 years old.

Judge Cashman sentenced this predator to 60 days in jail.

It’s hard to believe, but its true.  Not 60 years, 60 DAYS - for repeatedly raping an innocent child.

The link below will direct you to a map of the US and their status on enacting a form of Jessica's Law.  If you click on your state, you will be taken to a web page enabling you to send an email to your governor, encouraging him or her to support legislation to enact Jessica's Law or something equivalent. "Jessica's Law" refers to the Jessica Lunsford Act passed in Florida which mandates a minimum sentence of 25 years and a maximum of life in prison for first-time child sex offenders

Please pass this on. You may not agree with Bill O'Reilly on all issues, but please take this opportunity to stand up for children.
